CCLEANER BEING HACKED AND MILLION OF USERS MIGHT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED
CCleaner is the popular tools when coming to keeping your system clean from junk, temporary files, broken shortcuts, and other problem. CCleaner has been downloaded more than 2 billion times according to Avast, making it a popular target for hackers. CCleaner software is believed illegally modified without Piriform knowledge before releasing to the public.
The version of the software that being breach is the 32-bit version of CCleaner v5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud v1.07.3191. Both of them are released in August, Piriform and its parent company Avast only managed to identify the breach last week.
The illegal codes design to collect and transmit data to the server in US. With US authorities help, they managed to shut down the server, however, the investigation still going on.
Please update your CCleaner version to the latest one to make sure you safe again.
