WHAT DOES GOOGLE PAGE RANK MEAN?
When you enter a search query on Google search bar, Google's number one goal is to instantly come up with results that are relevant, high-quality, and exactly what you are looking for. There are around 200+ factors that Google takes into account while determining which websites best fit the bill.
What Does PageRank Mean?
PageRank or PR is a calculation that has been invented by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the founders of Google. It evaluates both the quality and the quantity of links connected to a website or webpage in order to determine the relative score of that particular page’s authority and importance on a scale of 0 to 10.
PageRank 10 domains are those domains that have the highest number lf inbound links, and they are Twitter.com, USA.gov, and Adobe Reader Download.
Websites that are considered PageRank 5 websites have a very good number of inbound links, while PR 3 and PR websites have a fair amount of inbound links. Websites that are brand new and have been recently launched do not have any inbound links and are at PageRank 0.
Reading this might maken you curious about your site’s pagerank. But Google does not reveal any PageRank scores for websites. It used to appear in the Google Toolbar at the top of web browsers, but not anymore. But PageRank still remains a very important ingredient in Google’s secret page ranking algorithms.
Remember the higher your website's PageRank, the higher are your chances of being easily found on Google. Having a high PR means Google will crawl your website more often. The bots will search your website more regularly to find out any new information or content you have published. This is an extremely important step as you will receive higher search engine rankings and even more visitors if you regularly publish fresh content.
Having a high PR also enables you to place ads on your website and earn money. The higher the page rank of your website, the more money you will be paid by advertisers for placing their ad link on your website.
Once you get into the business of making money, you would want your website to maintain a high page rank. The best way to ensure it maintains and improves its pagerank, you need to add more inbound links and add fresh new content on a regular basis.
More links on you website makes it an authority site and gives it more credibility. More people will trust your website over others and click the links leading to your website and visit it more often. Google will also crawl your site more often, and it will also make your PR go up.
Whether you want more traffic on your site to get more advertisers or you want to sell your own products, attracting more visitors is always a good thing.
